Macbook 2021 printing all black pages

I have had a MacBook air for several years that I have been using for work and it has been great. I have to print documents frequently and have never had a problem.

I just got a new MacBook air 2020 and went to print some new documents to the same printer that I have used for a few years as well.

When using the MacBook air 2020 running MacOS Big Sur, it is printing completely black pages, nothing else is on the page. It happened with a few different documents. I tried it with a couple of PDF's with varying amounts of images, and with a "pages" document with no images. The result is the same each time.

I am pretty sure this is a computer issue and not a printer issue because I still have my old MacBook 2014 model and it printed these documents without a problem.

My question ultimately comes down to this: is there some sort of setting I need to change to make this new MacBook 2020 connect with my printer to successfully print documents?
