I have not dropped my computer or have had exercised pressure on it. I left it opened and came back to see a small crack on the side of the screen. The screen is not working anymore.
Apparently other users have experience the same thing.
I bought my computer about 5months a go.
Has Apple acknowledged hog this as a manufacturing issue yet ? Will I get a full refund for this

Imagine getting it as a gift, and using it a total of 20 minutes in two evenings, to be told when brought to the service center that I "should have bought Apple Care." I am disappointed in the product, disappointed in Apple, and disappointed in the snide employee at the Apple Store.

I bought MacBook Air M1 in MBS Singapore, I returned back to Philippine after only 2 mos I had the similar issue and now they are saying they will not cover any issues on the screen. Please Help!!!
I also bought mine in Singapore Marina Bay Sands last July - I had this crack Sept 2021

I advise everyone to look into this more deeply.
My screen cracked in the bottom left corner when closing it today. I have an appointment tomorrow at the apple store.
Worse is that I was chastised for not buying Apple Care, it was a gift that I had less than 24 hours.
Interesting on the M1Pro screen being 3/16" thick. How thick is the M1MBA in comparison, if you know?
MacBook computers do not develop display damage on their own. They must always undergo some physically harsh event to create the damage.

That’s what we all thought and now we are stuck with a bad product. It’s ridiculous . This has made me very hesitant about buying any other Apple product.
Exactly the same thing happened to me on my 8 month old MacBook M1...10 days ago....I spoke to Apple Tech in detail...Courier returned the machine today ...Fixed at no charge to me.....

cracked screen also on my M1 MacBook Pro max 16… also not through me doing anything, just appeared. Apple want close on 700 to repair it.
Sadly it is not as simple as that...I am sure they are investing time and money investigating, silly not to, as its a world wide issue but I agree, I am also nervous about using it......
Same for me...I do think they are finally realising there is a problem, even if they are not actually voicing it.
