MacBook Pro M1 cracked screen

I have not dropped my computer or have had exercised pressure on it. I left it opened and came back to see a small crack on the side of the screen. The screen is not working anymore.

Apparently other users have experience the same thing.

I bought my computer about 5months a go.

Has Apple acknowledged hog this as a manufacturing issue yet ? Will I get a full refund for this

Hi, yes. It’s is very frustrating. It took me several tries with going into the Apple Store (where the lady wrote in her notes that I dropped the computer), then online support and after I brought up the class action lawsuit, the online support connected me to a really nice guy who was a “higher up” manager and he spent time asking me all sorts of questions that he said the engineering team was curious about because this has been happening so often. Then they overnighted my computer and it was back almost the next day. They fixed my screen and did not charge me- but they said if it happened again they would have to

charge me (???) so now I’m so ultra scared even when I open and close it and when I put it in a bag. A laptop should be a lot sturdier than this- especially for what we pay for the apple product.

good

luck to you!

My MacBook Air M1 - I have just had the same thing happen to me today, wasn’t touching or near the screen (never dropped or damaged it ever) when the screen went black and a colourful crack inside the screen appeared. Took to Apple store who are pretending not to know about this manufacturing issue/fault. They are trying to charge me £400 instead of replacing it and it is clear that other users on this site have experienced the same thing.
