UPGRADING FROM OSX YOSEMITE 10.10.5 LATE 2012

Safari 10.1.2 with my iMac 27" is now obsolete for some websites. I believe my only recourse is to update to a later operating system. Looking at community responses, maybe upgrading to El Capitan is the answer. Any suggestions for me. Thanks.

Back up your data, check your applications for compatibility, and click on El Capitan, High Sierra, Mojave, or Catalina.
