I have successfully moved the default downloads folder on imac (using the terminal) to another location, but now in the finder, the sidebar 'download' icon that usually appears for the download folder has disappeared.
Is there a way to restore the default icon? Or can these only be accessed when the downloads folder is in a specific directory.
Hope someone can help.

I actually did undo the terminal command, however, only when the download folder is in the default directory does the icon appear in the sidebar, otherwise it shows the standard folder icon.
Drag the Download Folder back out onto the Sidebar and see if the icon comes back.
If not, then you need to undo whatever it was you did in the Terminal.
