I used Migration Assistant to transfer data from old MacBook Pro to new MacBook Air. When Finder is open and I click "Desktop" I get the message "Desktop can't be opened because the original item cannot be found." How do I get normal access to the location "Desktop?"

Go menu -> Home
If the Desktop folder permissions aren't set right, then they won't show the content on the desktop.
If your migrated folder is not the one in Go menu -> Computer -> Hard drive -> Users folder does not have a house icon, it won't show the content on the desktop.
Thanks for responding quickly but this didn't tell me how to solve the problem. Now I'm know to check permissions, but it's not something I've had to deal with before. Thanks again.
