Why doesn't VoiceControl work with Firefox?

I see that VoiceControl works in Safari (in fact I'm using it right now for this). But it doesn't work in Firefox. Why is this? Is there a Firefox setting that can fix it? Or does it require a revised setting, or other workaround, in the macOS?

Hello, Daniel Kaplan.

Sorry to know about your struggle with VoiceControl and Firefox.

I did a little digging and found this article on the subject at Mozilla blog –

VoiceOver Preview for macOS Firefox - Mozilla Accessibility:

https://blog.mozilla.org/accessibility/voiceover-preview-for-macos-firefox/

It appears to me that the feature is not quite ready for prime time.

There are links to other articles on the page there as well.
