Skype requesting access to keychain

Hi, there was a discussion on this that is no longer open. Just wondering if anyone has found a solution to stop the incredibly annoying pop ups from Skype. On my Macbook it's asking for access to my Express VPN keychain password. Most of the time I continually click 'Deny', but I have also tried 'Allow' and 'Always Allow' out of total frustration just to see if it would stop - it did not. I have deleted skype from my keychain and that worked for about 1 day.

This is extremely annoying! Any advice would be much appreciated!

Hey alexandra137,

It appears that you get a continuous message about letting Skype have access to your Express VPN password, even after clicking various options (Deny, Allow, Always Allow). First, you'll want to make sure that your MacBook Pro has no available updates: Update macOS on Mac - Apple Support

To possibly isolate this issue, you can also start up your MacBook Pro in a temporary new test user and test to see if the same issue happens there? If needed, this article shows how to do that: Set up users, guests, and groups on Mac Let us know how that goes.

Thanks for those details. If you noticed this is happening with other Mac devices, happening in a new user, and only is resolved by using an older version of the app, you may need to work with the app developer for further help with their app: How to contact an app developer - Apple Support

Hi - I've had this issue since late 2020 (when I was using a different MacBook), I know it's a skype problem, it seems to be rather well known - but doesn't seem to have a resolution. The last suggestion, which worked on my old macbook and I just tried on this one, is to revert to an older version of skype, but at this stage, it's becoming a much older version so not sure how long that will be viable for (you need to revert to a version prior to 8.60). I've posted on Skype's message boards too, just trying to see if anyone has figured out a better work around.
