Unable to copy using Command C

Hello, I recently purchased a MacBook Pro. I am facing a peculiar problem where Command + C is not working for copying, in any application including Notes, Office 365 applications, Safari etc... Whenever I press Command + C, the cursor displays coordinates beside it, instead of copying the highlighted text. However, the Command switch works for Command-X, Command-V to cut and paste. Only for copying I am having a challenge. However, when I use Control+C, the copy command is working in Office applications only. Tried everything in system preferences, key board, modifier keys commands etc. The only option is to convert the Command button into a Control button to make it work for copy command. But by this, I lose the other benefits I have in using the Command button eg.. Command+Space for opening the Spotlight Search bar. Can anyone help please to get over this irritating issue?

Uninstall any and all third party Antivirus, Cleaners, Optimizers, VPN, speeder uppers....

To trouble shoot further you can:

—Try a SafeBoot https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT201262

Takes noticeable longer to get to the login screen, does a 5 minute disk repair before it fully boots up, and certain system caches get cleared and rebuilt, including dynamic loader cache, etc.

Login and test. Reboot as normal. Caches get rebuilt automatically.

In Safe mode third party system modifications and system accelerations are disabled, it removes malware, etc hampering smooth operation, however a reboot will put it back to normal mode.

This test will tell you if third party interference; extensions etc are not loaded in safe boot mode.

—Test issue in another user (or guest user) account https://support.apple.com/guide/mac-help/set-up-other-users-on-your-mac-mtusr001/mac

This will tell you if it a universal issue or isolated to your user/admin account.

Uninstall all third party apps that are Cleaners/Optimizers/VPN/Anti-Virus

To get a good look at your System config. and reveal conflicts or issues, you can download/run this trusted utility https://etrecheck.com
