Watch workout activity not syncing with Vitality app

Hi all, this could potentially be an Apple Watch issue, or a Vitality app issue - I can’t figure out which, but I’m hoping somebody could help.

For whatever reason, the Vitality app - which is connected to the Health app - isn’t syncing any of my workouts. It’s picking up my iPhone’s step count but nothing from the watch.

To try and remedy, I’ve tried:

  • Restarting both the Apple Watch and the iPhone 12 Pro
  • Deleting, and reinstalling, the Vitality app
  • Going into Settings > Privacy > Health > Vitality where all data is toggled ‘on’ (Heart Rate, Mindful Minutes, Steps and Workouts)
  • Going into the Health app and ensuring Vitality is togged on under Workouts as a data source
  • Ensuring my Apple Watch is ‘top of the list’ in order of priority

I’m now completely stumped. Their support aren’t really helping so wondering what else I could do?

All I can suggest is that the first (and simplest) thing to try if something isn’t working right is to restart your Apple Watch and its paired iPhone. If necessary (device not responding), try a forced restart. Both methods can be found here:

If that doesn't help, the next steps would be to unpair and pair your watch again and restore from the backup just created. This should result in no loss of data. It deletes all temp and corrupted files and re-indexes the file system.
