Iphone12 pro max signal bar is empty

Ive been using the phone since april 2021, everything was fine til yesterday the signal bar is empty. I thought it has something to do with the carrier so today i tried to put the sim card in the other phone and the signal bars were full, the cellular was working. When i put the sim card back into my iphone 12 it doesnt work again, the signal bars are empty and i cant make or receive phone calls but i can use the internet data and wifi. Does anyone know how to fix this without doing the factory reset? Thank you!

Probably the iPhone may be carrier locked

Remove your SIM card from the SIM card tray and then put the SIM card back. ... Make sure that the SIM tray closes completely and isn't loose. If you use a SIM tray from a different model iPhone, iPad, or from another phone manufacturer, it might not fit properly.
