Why do my screen captures disappear from the desktop? I have set the screen capture app to desktop. I am not finding any current solution online. I am on Big Sur, iMac Pro with Radeon processor.

It sounds as though you’re having issues locating screenshots after they’re taken on your Mac. You’ve come to a great place for help!
By default screenshots save to your desktop, but if you have iCloud Drive enabled you may have two different Desktop folders available. If you go in to Finder and click on Desktop beneath the Favorites section are you able to locate the screenshots? If not, you may have different Desktop screens available which can be accessed using Mission Control. Reference the article below to view the different desktop screens to see if you’re able to locate the screenshots.

If you open Finder and search for the term ‘Screen Shot’ or ‘Screenshot’ are you able to locate the screenshots? Also, were you able to use Mission Control to see if they may be saving to an alternate desktop?
If you have done those steps can you let us know if the issue continues in a different user account on your Mac? If you’re unsure, or you don’t have an alternate user account you can create one using the steps outlined in the following article. After creating a test admin user account test to see if the screenshots save to the desktop.

No. I see the screen capture appear on the desktop and then disappear. No matter where I tell it to save, it disappears. Even if I manually save it to the desktop, it disappears. I am using an iMacPro with Big Sur.
