command-, Won't Change Format to Subscript

I'm typing on google docs in safari and the shortcut listed for subscript is command-, but there's a system shortcut already for command-, that opens safari preferences. I don't know how to override or change this. The superscript shortcut, command-. works fine. I'm trying to write a lab with a partner.
