Purchased a new iPhone 12 today; an upgrade from my trusty 6S. I use Verizon for my cell network. Internet download speed on 5G maxed out at about 14 mbs.
I live in the Dallas-Fort Worth area and am wondering if 14 mbs would be classified as good, considering I'm using a 5G connection.
When I force the phone to use LTE (4G), the download speed is about the same or slightly slower.
Anyone with similar experiences?

"The default settings for 5G on iPhone are optimized for battery life and data usage based on your data plan. You can customize these options for when to use 5G and how much data to use in some apps.

Verizon focused on mm wave 5 G.
It has very limited range and is easily blocked by everything (leaves on trees, rain, etc). It requires a lot of cells very close to each other.
I believe they are now trying to expand their mid and low band coverage (slightly faster than LTE with comparable range)
I have T-Mobile.
My LTE coverage averaged 60 Mbps up, 5 Mbps down.
In some areas LTE is faster, in different areas 5G hits 122-200 Mbps down.
All the cellular carriers are working on rolling out their 5G networks, improving coverage and speeds over time.
