HDCP hdcp unauthorized message

Hello, we are using the AppleTV app through Roku on our TV (it is NOT an apple TV). We can use the AppleTV app on our iphones. We just unplugged the HDMI from TV and Roku and plugged a different one back in. Didn't work. Any recommended next steps please?

That should only happen if one of your HDMI components is not HDCP-compliant.

Is Roku internal to the TV, or do you have an external Roku streaming device? Which model?

What kind of TV or monitor are you using? Is it listed as HDCP-compliant?

Do you have any other devices in the HDMI chain? Are those listed as HDCP-compliant?


The recommendation to reset the HDMI connection by unplugging the HDMI cable temporarily, seems to be met by trying a different cable.
