Which method are you using to backup your iPhone?

  1. iCloud backup with Wi-Fi? - If this is what you are using then ensure that the Wi-Fi has good speed and connection
  2. Computer backup with a cable connected? - Ensure that your cable is in good shape or try a different cable.
  3. Computer backup over Wi-Fi? - Same as point 1

Once the backup is in progress then there is nothing that you can do manually to speed things up. The iPhone handles the progress automatically based on the type of connection and method that is used.
