I'm afraid one of my users on my old Mac had the Bing redirect virus on their account. I'm setting up my new iMac 24" with a Time Machine backup of that older Mac. Will it transfer the virus and, if so, how can I prevent it?

On the old iMac, click here and run the tool. If it finds malware, remove it and make a new backup.

This issue is caused by Mac malware; at this point, all references to non-biological viruses should be read as malware.

There are no viruses for Mac OS, if your are referring to a MS Windows virus, it may transfer however Mac OS is NOT at all affected by Window's viruses.
