Finding serial number

I have an iphone that is activation locked. It's a company phone and I can get it unlocked if I can show proof of purchase. To do that I need the serial number or IMEI#, but I can't get it without getting into the phone. How can I get the serial #? I don't know who had the phone before, so I don't know what happened to the box it came in.

While I was waiting for Apple Support, I found the answer myself: When the iPhone is on the "Hello" screen, there is a small info button on the bottom right of the screen (an "i" in a circle). Tapping on that takes you to a screen with the MEID, SN, IMEI, and SIM numbers.

It is safe to assume that you do not know the Apple ID and Password that is currently active on the iPhone since you cannot get past the Activation Lock. You will need the Serial Number information for Proof of Purchase. You have stated that you may be able to show proof of purchase. This has to be in the form of a receipt that was issued when the iPhone was sold. That receipt will have the serial number of the iPhone.

If this is a company iPhone then have the company administrator deal with it. The proof of purchase will not have your name on it It will have the company's name on it.
