Hi there Nancyace,
Welcome to the Apple Support Communities.
We understand you're having some trouble viewing your contacts in the Contacts app.
If you're currently seeing the Groups section, make sure there is a checkmark next to at least one group, and then click "Done" at the top right of your screen to get back to viewing your contacts.
If you possibly deleted your contacts from the Contacts app, and use iCloud, check out the steps here to try and recover them: If you accidentally deleted your calendars, bookmarks, or contacts from iCloud - Apple Support
From there, you can also check Settings > Contacts > Accounts to make sure your accounts have Contacts enabled, in case you are normally using contacts from an email provider or other type of account.
We hope you have a great reset of your day!
Take care!
