Regarding of Apple for education

Hi,

I'm a University student from Sri Lanka. I am doing software engineering . I'm looking to buy a Macbook pro under the Education program offered by Apple. Since there is no Apple store in Sri Lanka, can I purchase it from a foreign store like Canada by providing my University Student ID and ask my friend/relative to collect it on behalf of me?

Thank you!

You could do this, but please note that if the device requires service, it will have to be serviced within the country it was purchased within. There also could be issues with purchasing in a different country. The additional cost of shipping and insuring the device also essentially nullify the discount.

In short, just buy one locally for normal price as it will be less hassle and less risk.
