Adding a second monitor with new macpro 13" M1 laptop

Really frustrated with brand new macpro M1 laptop. Have an a powered adapter with HDMI cable to 28" 4k monitor (Samsung) When macpro goes to sleep mode, tapping keys monitor getting white noise, goes into loop searching for HDMI 1, HDMI @ etc. then flashed to ghost image?

What to do?

Will the offical apple USB-C Digital AV Multiport Adapter work to solve this problem? Product info on this adpater only mentions OS Mohave?

Please need help, searching online

Did you try the DisplayPort input on your display.

USB-C port (select models only)  Lower version USB-C cables will not support the DisplayPort video input function.

The USB-C A/V adapter is designed for one display and the USB-C port is for power input only.

Good News it seems the "Official apple" USB-C Digital AV Multiport Adapter @$69.00 did the fix, all is good. The 4k monitor is great. Sleeping 13" macpro 13" M1not a problem now.

(tried on a 1080 monitor and there was no issue with using non branded apple adapter and the sleep sync issue? only with the 4k monitor)
