Dexcom G6 iOS Compatibility

Does anyone have any recommendations about how to manage continuous glucose monitoring apps with iOS updates? Dexcom and I imagine other glucose monitoring systems update their software to remain compatible with Apple’s iOS. However, the FDA isn’t nearly as fast. This means that if and when there is an iOS update the Dexcom might not work. Furthermore, Dexcom can not legally release their update until the FDA approves that update.

Is there a way to rollback an iPhone iOS update to a version that has an FDA approved app? Most of the feedback I’ve seen is no. The only solution that I can think of, other than petition the FDA, is to turn off automatic updates and only update iOS if and only if the glucose monitoring app is approved for that iOS version.
