Help using old printer

I cannot use my Brother Printer any more with the Mac OS, that was updated on my Macbook Pro. According to Brother folk, my printer MFC 7820N, will work with OS 10.10 but none newer than that. Can I replace my current OS, 11.5, with 10.10. If yes, how? Thanks for your help. Rollin

Old print drivers are typically the first causality in updating macOS.

Instead of going backwards It may be time to purchase a new printer ...

Revert your Mac to a previous macOS version

If you can't find an updated driver for your printer give the open-source, free Gutenprint driver a try.
