The hands-free connection works but doesn't sound anything compared to stereo which did work but stopped. The microphone use to stop working during stereo but worked on Hands-Free now stereo has no sound and Hands-Free has microphone but sounds terrible.

It sounds like you are having an issue connecting your AirPods to a Windows PC, and we'd like to help.
There is not a specific driver for AirPods. Make sure your Windows OS and iTunes for Windows are updated to the most recent versions. Toggle Bluetooth settings off, restart the computer and toggle them back on.
Update to the latest version of iTunes
