Vintage Wireless Apple Keyboard with Mac Mini M1?

Will an Apple Wireless Keyboard model A1314 (2009) work with the newest Mac Mini M1?

(I realize people are having problems connecting the newest Magic Keyboard wirelessly. I'd like to save two USB ports on the Mini for other peripherals by going wireless with mouse and keyboard if possible.)

The Mac Mini M1 is Bluetooth 5.0, while my keyboard model A1314 (2009) works with what my MacBook Pro's system report says is Apple Bluetooth Software Version 6.0.7f22 with RSSI -59 (although I don't know what RSSI means).

I've been reading threads here and find some people say yes about using the keyboard model A1314 (2009), others no. What are the chances?

I have been using the old Apple bluetooth keyboard and trackpad with the M1 since I bought it in May. I was using them with a 2012 mini before that. They have both worked fine with the M1.

In the initial setup the keyboard would not connect to the M1 until I went back to the 2012 and unpaired the keyboard from it.

Battery life for the keyboard and trackpad have been about the same with both Mac's.
