AirPods Pro no longer shows battery level when case opened

My AirPods Pro have been working with my iPhone 12Pro fine, until recently (?iOS 14.6 update) and now every time I open the case, instead of seeing the battery levels, I get a message "Not your AirPods Pro, AirPods Pro not connected to this iPhone" or sometimes a button that says "Share Audio" but when I put them in my ears, they are connected and work. Just can't get the battery levels anymore. Anyone else having this problem?

If you're having issues with viewing the battery levels on your AirPods but they're connecting to your iPhone, try resetting your AirPods.

Yes. I have the same problem. I called Apple and tried to trouble shoot issue with no results. I told them I think is was there update that caused this issue since the AirPods worked fine before the update.

I tried that before I posted and it didn't help. However, it's no longer a problem as when I updated my iPhone 12Pro to iOS 14.7.1 the battery levels reappeared when opening the case to my AirPods pro, so I guess it was fixed by that update.
