Garage band freezes

GarageBand is showing the following:

An error has occurred with an installed Audio Unit plug-in.

GarageBand unexpectedly quit while trying to use the Audio Unit "GA Classics - DRIVE" by Steinberg Media Technologies.

This plug-in may require an update.

After this GarageBand freezes.

I installed all latest software from Steinberg.

I wonder if UR44 and Steinberg's software is really compatible with Mac.

I couldn't find any solution on Steinberg's forum.

I really appreciate any help.

Mac Pro, macOS 11.4

Good afternoon Spiralpop,

Welcome to the Apple Support Communities!

It sounds like you are having issues working with a Steinberg UR44 USB Audio Interface and GarageBand.

We can provide some general information regarding GarageBand, but you will need to reach out to Steinberg regarding their hardware and the "GA Classics - DRIVE" Audio Unit Plug-in.

If you have not done so already, please update your Mac Pro to macOS 11.5.1.

Then update the drivers and software for the UR44 again after restarting both devices.

Use Audio Units plug-ins with GarageBand on Mac

Where are third-party Audio Units plug-ins installed on Mac?
