MacBook Air monitors qs

Will a 27+ inch curved monitor work with a MacBook Air early 2015?

Is there a way to add a second monitor (2 monitors plus the MB Air early 15)? I can’t find a straightforward answer and reviews seem to be mixed on Youtube tutorial videos for 3rd party adapters.

I appreciate any feedback!

Let's start with what a Early 2015 MacBook Air is capable of:

Graphics and Video Support

  • Intel HD Graphics 6000
  • Dual display and video mirroring: Simultaneously supports full native resolution on the built-in display and up to 3840 by 2160 pixels on an external display, both at millions of colors.
  • Thunderbolt digital video output
    • Native Mini DisplayPort output
    • DVI output using Mini DisplayPort to DVI Adapter (sold separately)
    • VGA output using Mini DisplayPort to VGA Adapter (sold separately)
    • Dual-link DVI output using Mini DisplayPort to Dual-Link DVI Adapter (sold separately)
    • HDMI audio and video output using third-party Mini DisplayPort to HDMI Adapter (sold separately)

Ok, from that we know three things:

  1. It can only support a single external display. Even using a hub that you can attach multiple displays will not work.
  2. It can support a display resolution of up to: 3840 x 2160 (aka, 4K UHD,) regardless of what display you connect to it.
  3. It can support video output in a number of forms: Mini DisplayPort natively via the notebook's Thunderbolt port, and by using adapters: DVI, VGA, Dual-Link DVI, & HDMI. Typically, both DisplayPort and HDMI can support the highest resolution.

So can this notebook support a 27 in. curved (or flat) monitor? Most likely, yes. Can it support more than one simultaneously? No.
