New 2021 MacMini M1 won't print most jobs.

Will not print any web page formats. Won't print emails. Only prints few random PDF documents. WILL print 'text/edit' documents. Tried removing, reinstalling printer. No go. Apple tech support had me re-install BigSur. No change!

My Canon laser printer MF236n is only a year old and was working 100% with old machine. Printer never looses connection. Mac sends the print job to spool and 'thinks' it prints, but the Canon just makes a SINGLE beep and returns to ready status. No error codes, nothing. Definitely a computer issue.

For any of you having the same issue, here's what I figured out! After YEARS of my old mac mini printing just fine with Mojave, my new M1 Mini w/BigSur needs a different printer configuration. I REMOVED all printers/scanners/fax from the Mac printer application. I reinstalled the printer. BUT instead of allowing the computer to use SECURED AIR PRINT, I changed the drop down and selected the CANON SERIES of the printer. ( I have the Canon MF236n) So I selected " MF2300 series printer" from the menu. ALL PROBLEMS SOLVED. Everything prints. And it still 'air prints' from mobile devices. ( one note: my Canon is connected to my network via an ethernet cord directly to the router. NOT via wifi because my model hasn't the wifi capability). So it's always connected no matter what.
