How do I sort photos by date in iCloud albums?

I have imported many old photos into iCloud. Most of the newer ones have electronic date stamps and those go into iCloud in date order. The old photos don't have electronic date stamps and those are im-orted as though they were taken today. How can I move them to a different year? For example, how can I move a batch of photos from 2021 to say 1960? I am using an iMac IOS 10.11.6 El Capitan.

iMac, OS X 10.11

Are you using iCloud photos purely on the web, or are you syncing it with the photos app on your mac, and sorting there.

If you are in the photos app, you can select one or more photos, and go to image>adjust time and date.

I am not aware of any way of doing this on the web at icloud.com
