How do I set my alarm to NOT play through Bluetooth headphones

I sometimes fall asleep while listening to music/podcast but my headphones don’t always make it back into their case. The new iOS now ONLY plays alarms through the Bluetooth connected headphones. How do I restore so that the phone speaker plays the alarm, instead of only through the headphones?

iPhone 12, iOS 14

Same here. iPhone 12 mini running latest iOS - 14.7.1. I’ve tried everything including erasing my phone and setting up again. I always go to sleep with one AirPod in listening to a podcast with the sleep timer. The alarm has always played through the iPhone speakers regardless of whether headphones were connected. I didn’t realize at first why I kept sleeping through my alarm. I’ve bought an old school alarm clock for now but this is very frustrating. I’m glad I finally found this thread. I’ve been looking for an answer for a few weeks and kept thinking surely others were having the same issue.

I have this same issue and the lack of response from Apple about this is frustrating. I'm lucky enough that I discovered the issue during a nap, but it easily could have made me late for work. My alarm has ALWAYS sounded through the speaker no matter what until recently.

@bazaar00, how did you update to iOS 15? My phone (12 mini) will only let me go to 14.8 as of now.
