See if you’re able to reset it

  1. Unplug HomePod or unplug the power adapter for HomePod mini, wait 10 seconds, then plug it back in.
  2. Wait 10 seconds, then touch your finger to the top of HomePod and hold it there.
  3. The white spinning light will turn red. Keep your finger down.
  4. Siri will say that your HomePod is about to reset. When you hear three beeps, you can lift your finger.

Thank you for your replies. I left it 24 hours and followed your suggestions. Not even a flicker of light. I’m not willing to just dispose of the HomePod as this is supposed to be a high end item. Very disappointed with the response that I received at Cardiff Apple Store, they wanted £280 to repair.. I said that under UK Consumer Law that an electrical item of this price should be repaired up to 6 years, they said sorry but it’s just 2 years..

Thank you for letting me know about this, very disappointed that these are not going to last. At that such a high price. A fantastic speaker in my eyes. Maybe they knew of a problem and discontinued them ?? I have bought 2 HomePod minis to go either side of my last OG HomePod. When they are linked it gives a very good sound. Hopefully they will develop a comparative speaker with this great sound quality, but with some kind of USB-C port that you can access the software inside...

Thanks again for your help...
