If the blue/yellow circle is with a building, is there a possibility that they could be outside of that circle, in another building? That is, does it ever give the wrong approximation of their location? How accurate is the location of the circle? I understand that the purpose of the circle is to show that they are somewhere within that range, but is that range ever inaccurate?
You will usually see that extended size circle if someone is inside of a building. This is because the GPS satellite cannot see the phone. It is using cellular tower triangulation to get the location. It is usually pretty close, but is really affected by the building construction, and if a multi-story building it gets worse.
The minimum radius is set to 300 yards, is Apple working to get that distance smaller? Is there a different app that is more accurate? If you are using this feature to help a loved one with a disability (dementia, autism) stay safe 300 yard is a long distance.
