MacBook Pro 13-inch, 2020: Pop-up mobile external DVD-RW not detected

Using Pop-up mobile external DVD-RW to read and write CD’s and DVD’s.

-Using a USB-C Digital AV Multiport Adapter and then connecting the pop-up mobile external DVD-RW on the USB port but it is not mounting.

-Put on a CD, it shows for a second and then gone

-The DVD Player works on windows PC

-The manufacturer has marketed this DVD player to be compatible with mac and windows

-Connect other a logitech webcam on the multipart adapter’s USB port and it is detected

-The manufacturer of this DVD reader has no contact information

-No other mac to test

-SMC, Safe mode, Run First aid, same issue

Any other suggestions to get this working on the mac?

Some Thoughts:

A. Compatibility:

Look at the original packaging or research it on the Web, seeing if it is compatible with macOS.

B. Is there a Drive Even Seen?:

To Find Out:

Go to: Apple menu
Select: About this Mac
Click: System Report... button
View: Hardware on left-column
Click: Disc Burning
Confirm if a Superdrive is Even Seen

C. Try Using a New Administrator User:

See what happens when you create a new Administrator User and login to it and perform and eject. If it works, then it is something misconfigured in your current user.

D. Connect to a Different Mac:

Connect this to a difference Mac, seeing if you can get it to work. If you don't have another Mac, ask someone else (i.e. friend or family member) if you may use their Mac (with their permission, or course).
