Was reading through this post and I have the same issue. The monitor flickers and makes clicking noises unless I manually scale down each time the Macbook pro 2020 wakes up from sleep. Any solution to this issue rather than manually scaling each time the macbook wakes from sleep?

Safeboot doesnt seem to make a difference. The workaround is to scale to 720p and then back to 1080p and the flickering and clicking noises stop but I need to do this each time I connect to the external monitor. Is there a way to change this setting at the command line so I dont have to manually scale each time I start up the Macbook?
