Can 2 people share the same Apple Calendar?

Can 2 people share the same Apple Calendar, if they have 2 separate Apple Accounts. They are in 1 “family sharing” group. We can’t seem to share one Family” calendar among us. When someone makes an entry for an appt they can’t see if it clashes with another person’s schedule. If that same person does add an appt to his calendar, the new appt will not show up in another family members (in “Family Sharing”) calendar. Thus can members of a “family sharing group” to share One Apple calendar.
