Recovery mode

Hi, I just accidentally opened my working computer in MacOs Recovery mode, and now I need to enter my firmware password which I dont have. Does anybody know how to exit recovery mode without entering this password?

Is there a way to go back to how it was before, with the normal login screen (with my known password)? Firmware password I turned on my macbook air and a icon of a padlock and a spot to put a password popped up and with further research i found out it means a firmware password has been set. I don't remember making such changes to my mac but i might of set it by mistake. I've read that you can bypass it using recovery mode buy turning on your mac and holding down command + R I've tried this multiple times and was unsuccessful on getting my mac to boot in recovery mode. Could anyone please help me with this issue.

firmware password lost, can't perform recovery boot I have a mac pro 2013-2019 ( ME253CT/A) that was purchased used by a manager years ago. He has moved on, and the original SSD died. I've purchased a new SSD for it, but the screen shows a gray lock and a password entry space. I've found that this is a firmware password, but have no way to talk to the old manager to find out what it is. How do I reset this so we can install a new OS and begin using this beast again?

Power Button ⎋ should help. May be pressing longer like more than 10 seconds.
