External connections for my MacBook Air

I just bought a new MacBook Air. It only has two USB ports one of which is used for power. How do I connect an external monitor, external hard drive and a mouse? Can I connect more than one bluetooth device at a time? It has a headphone jack which is useless given Apple air pods.

You can pair multiple devices to your Mac. You can only use one of a given category at a time. For example, you could use a BT mouse and keyboard and speakers all at once. But you couldn't use two speakers.

You are not restricted to using AirPods. There are still lots of wired speakers and headphones available. The BT speaker I've got sitting next to me (JBL) supports a wired connection as well.
