I can't install/reinstall my cloud backup Carbonite using Safari. I had to use Chrome. Th e Carbonite people said I need some kind of permission from Apple/OS 11.5.1 to install non apple Apps or non approved apple apps. How can I fix this or do I abandon Safari?

I'm not very knowledgeable about permissions issues but I have recently seen a number of other similar reports (for things other than Carbonite). The following may help or you may want to use the link at the top right of this page to contact Apple Support. Change permissions for files, folders, or disks on Mac - Apple Support
Tried everything that was suggested above. None of it worked. Here is the message I kept getting with Safari.
