Pinned message- do they need to be so large?

I was really looking for a place to submit a software update suggestion pertaining to pinned messages & pictures & this probably is the wrong place but here is its. Is it necessary for the pinned messages to be so gigantic? If they were smaller thumbnails, you could pin more massages & still see other messages without it taking the whole screen. Also, would be nice if you could lock certain message threads from being deleted. along the lines of locking messages- could we also get the ability to lock a picture so it doesn’t automatically get deleted? That would be great. just a thought.
