Upgrading Old Macbook Air

I have a MacBook Air mid-2012 with X El Capitan 10.11.6 OS. Is there any way to upgrade this OS? I have Safari 11.1.2 which is not working when I try to log in certain sites.. I want to upgrade Safari but looks like I need to upgrade OS first. There is no update on Apple Store for this mac. Any advice will be appreciated.

Back up your data, check your applications for compatibility, and click on High Sierra, Mojave, or Catalina.
