Thanks for the reply but unfortunately that doesn’t help. I normally keep Siri turned off since I don’t find it very useful. Unfortunately turning off Siri doesn’t disable the button.
If Siri is enabled pressing the button will result in an on screen prompt to hold the button and speak. This wouldn’t be too bad if the prompt had a timeout but it doesn’t. It will remain on the screen until the button is pressed again.
If Siri is disabled pressing the button will result in a search keyboard. Again, this keyboard will remain on the screen and it’s worse than the Siri prompt because exiting the search screen goes back to the home screen rather than whatever app was being used when the button press occurred.
