  • Apple TV asks for Apple ID password, enter it.
  • An authentication code will be sent to your iPhone or iPad or Mac.
  • Apple TV asks for the Apple ID password again, enter it followed by the authentication code. For example if your Apple ID password is XYZ123 and the authentication code is 4567 enter XYZ1234567
  • Do this quickly or it will time out!

It would behoove you to upgrade to an Apple TV 4K, please remember your Apple TV 3 is old technology and is extremely limited in what it can do. The Apple TV 4K's are orders of magnitude more capable. If money is the issue, you can still find some first generation Apple TV 4Ks for $129.95 from B&H Photo. And you can even save the sales tax if you apply and get one of B&H's Payboo cards. But that won't last long as they are top sellers and the discount is $50 off.

Staying with a 3rd generation simply does not make sense anymore.
