Apple music playlist issue adding songs

hello all,

I am having issues adding songs to a new or old playlist. I have XS and it also happens to my husbands Iphone 12 pro plus. I pay for the subscription. All the setting are on and lossless and dolby, storage and synced. When i go to new or create playlist, and find a song , i click the 3 dots and select add to play list. It confirms it added it. When i check its not in the list, so i add again. When i check now i see 2 of the same tracks. When I delete 1 of them they both get erased. I have tried to restart the app, done a hard start on the phone. Still keeps doing the same thing. Hope someone can assist with an answer

Hello Abmartinez247,

We understand that when attempting to add music to a playlist, the first time you try to add it nothing happens, but the second time the song adds twice. You’ve taken some great troubleshooting steps already by restarting your devices and the app.

Do you and your husband use an Apple Music family subscription? We ask that to consider whether this may be an account issue. Is the music downloaded to your device?

A couple other things we can do -

Verify we’re working with iOS 14.7.1. That’s in Settings > General > About. If not, please create a backup and install the update.

How to back up your iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch

Update your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch

If the issue persists, delete and reinstall the Music app, with the understand that this will delete downloaded music from your iPhone.

Thanks.

Thank you for responding!

to answer you question about updates, my husband ALL our iphones as soon as the update is posted. He is crazy like that, updates and make sure we are all on the latest version of apps as well as IOS.

music subscription is a family one, and all songs that i add to the playlist it should down load to phone, that was confirmed by my husband. He is the tech nerd of all of us. If he can’t figure out it will drive him crazy and start investigating on all web , chat room and youtube services

im just trying to help. So i will delete the Music app and reinstall and see what happens

thanks again
