All M1 Chips are same?

Hi,

Can anyone explain, all M1 chips are the same on every apple latest device?


iMAC, MacBook, MacMini, etc.

iMac 24″, macOS 11.5

The M1 chips are all the same chip yes in all the devices that use it. 8 core, with 4 performance cores and 4 efficiency efficiency cores and the 16 core neural engine. On MacBook Air, MacBook Pro, Mac Mini and iMac and iPad Pro. Same exact chip.


The difference will be in the embedded GPU. 7 core or 8 core. for most day to day tasks the lack of one GPU Core is pretty much irrelevant.

In short no they are not. However this information would be available by checking the Technical Specifications on each device. The Tech Specs are found on the web page for each device, I normally look in the Apple Store to find them. Please remember the CPU while important is NOT the only component of a device.


Perhaps if you told us why you want that information we can guide you a bit better.
