Hi. I just received a long text in Spanish from a friend who swears she did not send it. My friend knows very little Spanish (from high school decades ago). She is as confused about it as I am. Should either one of us be worried about our phone?! Has anyone ever had this happen. It’s freaking us both out a little bit! Thanks in advance for any info!

She should indeed change her Facebook password. Did this text come in as an SMS (green balloon) or iMessage (blue balloon). I'm guessing it was green and they spoofed her phone number or they used her email address to send an iMessage. You don't need to change anything.

Update: parts of the text contain names of 3 people in her contact list. Apple support was no help at all. Anyone have any input?
Is she a Facebook user? She may have been hacked there and the person who sent that text used that information.
She does use Facebook. So I’m guessing solution would be to change all passwords? Should I also change my passwords?
My messages to her before and after the message in question (as in all of our messages) were blue balloons. All of her messages were white balloons (as usual). Thank you for your help with this!
