why doesn't my iphone XR have the 'Add Contact' button in my group text info?
Lets try this again. I currently have a text string going with 10 people. Had it for a year now. I want to add an 11th person. When I hit the info button and it lists the 10 people, there is NO 'add contact' button to add a new person.
Do I really have to start all over and add 11 people to a new string?

Hi Steelman1951,
Your iPhone will try to use MMS always unless it's unavailable. Most commonly this happens when a message group includes someone without an iPhone.

Hi Steelman1951,
Thanks for clarifying the concern.
It's likely you're dealing with an MMS message and not an iMessage group.
With an MMS message group, there is no way to add someone to the group in this instance.

Thanks but I looked at my settings and both iMessage and MMS are on. How do you know which one you are using when you set up a group string?
Thanks...this helped.
Hi Steelman1951,
It seems you're having trouble adding a contact and we can help.
Normally, you would see the add contact on the individual numbers of the people who contacted you, as a whole group can't be a contact.
Let us know if that helps.
