Does not work for the Mail app 14.0 and macOS 11.5.2.

I am unable to send an email via my Earthlink account for the past week and one of the trouble shooting steps to to check the port being used. Since so far I cannot do this, how can I do so?

Make sure you uncheck "Automatically manage connection settings."

Then, try, try again. I've had problems where the settings don't stick and I have to re-enter, but that was years ago and all of my settings now maintain themselves.

Thanks for the suggestion. Unfortunately I am still unable to send a message.

But! Unchecking the "Automatically manage connection settings." box made visible the port being used. So at least that info is changeable. One mystery solved 😄😄

Error Message:

The server "mail.earthlink.net" refused to allow a connection on the default ports.

Connection Doctor:

SMTP is never able to login to the account
