how can I use stationary in Mail

The way to go if you want a pretty invitation with formatting is to create the invitation in an app then save it as a PDF file. Attach the PDF invitation to the email.

I don't think that's accurate. Nobody who uses Mail app can view email as text, it is just not an option that Apple provides. People who use webmail are probably in the same position. Someone who uses Outlook can option for text only, but I doubt that most of them do.

Maybe I was a little inaccurate. Those who use other email clients have the option and many do exercise that option for security reasons. I apologize to the original poster if all her invitees use the Mail app.

No, it was removed with Mojave I think. Do a google search on "apple mail stationery gone" to see info and alternatives.
