Photos problem: library and iPhone flickers when I attach iPhone to MacBook Pro.

Photos flickers rapidly between library and iPhone when I attach iPhone to MacBook Pro. Using IPhone 11 and MacBook Pro OS 11.5 (Big Sur). When I plug my iPhone into my MacBook Pro using USB cord, Photos pops up and flickers over and over between Photos: library and the icon for my iPhone in Photos. All other open items freeze and can't be used unless I unplug the iPhone from my laptop. Photos says it is preparing to import. It does import eventually, and stops flicking back and forth but takes forever. Just started happening one day ago.

iPhone 11, iOS 14

Hey there, MEWzz!

From your post, it sounds like you are experiencing an issue with the Photos app when you connect your iPhone to your MacBook Pro. We’re glad that you reached out to the Apple Support Communities. We want to try and help you find the answers you need.

If you have not tried already, please Restart your iPhone and your MacBook Pro. Does this help to resolve the issue? Often this simple step will refresh the apps and software on a device to solve numerous problems you may encounter.

Have you tried using a different Lightning to USB cable to connect the iPhone to the Mac? What about testing the cable using a different charging port? Are you using the official Apple-branded cable that came in the box with your iPhone?

Once more details are posted, others in the Apple Support Communities may be able to offer assistance.

Cheers!
