Migration problem
I get a message when trying to migrate my 2017 Mac to my 2021 that says Unable to connect….. make sure the firewalls are off. Both the firewalls are off and I’ve tried it with a USB-C cable and over WiFi. What am I doing wrong?

You are always better off with a cabled connection for large transfer like this.
The most trouble free way to move to a new machine, is using the Setup Assistant on the initial boot of a brand new machine— you have one shot here. https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT205749
If that opportunity has past, the second best way is use the Migration Assistant.

You can always try transferring from a current Backup and compare the results.
